Ready to feel that rod bend and reel scream? Hop aboard for an action-packed 4 hours on the crystal-clear waters of Naples, Florida. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just getting your feet wet, Captain Sean of Dreamaker Fishing Charters knows how to put you on the fish. With a mix of flats, mangroves, and nearshore spots, you'll have shots at some of Florida's most sought-after inshore species. Grab your hat and sunscreen – it's time to see what's biting in Naples!
From the moment you step on Captain Sean's spotless flats boat, you'll know you're in for a treat. He'll run you through a quick safety briefing, then it's lines in! Depending on the tide and conditions, you might start by drifting grass flats for trout and pompano, or maybe tucking into mangrove pockets for snook and redfish. Captain Sean's local knowledge means he always has a game plan, but he's quick to adapt if the fish aren't playing nice. You'll use light tackle and a variety of techniques – from live bait to artificial lures – to target whatever's biting. And don't worry if you're new to this; Sean's patient instruction will have you casting like a pro in no time.
Naples is an inshore angler's playground, and Captain Sean knows how to make the most of it. You might start your morning sight-casting to tailing redfish on shallow flats, using ultra-light gear and small shrimp imitations. As the sun climbs, you could switch to working deeper channels with live bait for monster snook. If the tide's right, you might even sneak up to oyster bars to tempt tasty sheepshead. Sean's always got a few tricks up his sleeve, whether it's using scented soft plastics for picky trout or free-lining pilchards for cruising tarpon. And don't be surprised if you stumble upon a feeding frenzy – schools of jack crevalle or Spanish mackerel can turn the water to foam when they're blasting bait. No matter what's biting, you'll learn techniques you can use long after your trip's over.
"Captain Sean was an excellent guide and gave us a fantastic experience. We'll definitely book with him again the next time we're in town." - Chad

"Captain Sean's expertise made all the difference! Despite the scorching 97-degree water, he put us right on the fish." - Marc
Snook: The crown jewel of Naples inshore fishing, snook are hard-fighting, acrobatic, and downright addictive to catch. These ambush predators love to hang around mangrove roots and dock pilings. Spring and fall are prime times, but Captain Sean can put you on them year-round. Nothing beats the heart-pounding excitement of a big snook smashing a topwater plug at first light.
Redfish: With their copper-colored scales and distinctive spot near the tail, redfish are both beautiful and delicious. They're often found tailing in shallow water, offering exciting sight-fishing opportunities. Fall brings "bull" reds into the area, with some topping 40 inches. Their powerful runs will test both your drag and your biceps.
Tarpon: Known as the "Silver King," tarpon are the ultimate gamefish. These prehistoric giants can reach well over 100 pounds, and their spectacular aerial displays are the stuff of fishing legend. While the big migratory schools show up in late spring, resident juveniles provide year-round action in the backwaters. Hooking one is thrilling; landing one is an accomplishment you'll never forget.
Pompano: Don't let their smaller size fool you – pompano punch well above their weight class. These tasty, hard-fighting fish are often found on sandy flats and near passes. Their deep bodies and forked tails make for screaming runs, and they're considered one of the best-eating fish in the sea. Winter and early spring are prime time for pompano in Naples.
Sea Trout: The bread-and-butter of many inshore trips, spotted seatrout are abundant and willing biters. They're often found over grass flats, and their soft mouths make for an exciting, finesse-focused fight. While most average 1-3 pounds, big "gator" trout over 5 pounds are always a possibility. They're great for introducing kids or newbies to the thrill of inshore fishing.
Whether you're dreaming of your first snook or looking to check "100-pound tarpon" off your bucket list, a trip with Dreamaker Fishing Charters is your ticket to Naples' inshore action. Captain Sean's years of experience, top-notch gear, and passion for putting clients on fish make this 4-hour adventure hard to beat. From the thrill of the catch to the stunning Southwest Florida scenery, you'll head home with memories (and maybe some fish tacos) that'll last a lifetime. Don't let that trophy fish get away – book your Naples fishing trip today and get ready for tight lines!

Florida Pompano are a prized catch around Naples. These flat, silvery fish typically run 1-3 pounds but can reach 8-9 pounds. Look for them in the surf zone and around sandbars, especially during summer and fall. Pompano love the shallow waters, usually hanging out in depths under 20 feet. They're known for their strong fight and delicious, buttery meat that fetches a high price in restaurants. To land one, use small hooks - their mouths are tiny. Live bait like sand fleas or shrimp works great. If you're using lures, go for bright colors like yellow or orange jigs in clear water. These fish can be finicky, so patience is key. Once you hook one though, you're in for a fun battle on light tackle. Pompano make excellent table fare, so they're popular with anglers looking for a tasty dinner.
Redfish are a favorite target in Naples' shallow waters. These copper-colored bruisers usually run 5-15 pounds inshore, but bulls over 40 pounds cruise nearshore waters. Look for them tailing in water as shallow as 1-2 feet, especially around oyster bars and mangroves. They're most active in fall and winter when water temps cool down. Redfish are known for their powerful runs and stamina - even smaller ones put up a great fight on light tackle. Their signature black spot near the tail helps fool predators. For bait, live shrimp or cut mullet works well, but artificial lures like gold spoons or soft plastics produce too. Here's a tip: on calm days, cruise the flats and look for their tails or backs sticking out of the water as they root for crabs and shrimp. A well-placed cast to a tailing red often results in an explosive strike. And don't forget, they make excellent table fare when cooked on the half shell.
Sea trout, also called speckled trout, are a staple of inshore fishing around Naples. Most run 14-24 inches and 1-5 pounds, though gator trout over 5 pounds aren't uncommon. Look for them over grass flats and around oyster bars, especially at dawn and dusk. They're most active in cooler months when water temps are in the 60s and 70s. Sea trout are known for their spotted pattern and delicate, white flesh. They're not big fighters, but they make up for it with their willingness to bite and excellent table quality. Live shrimp under a popping cork is a classic tactic, but artificial lures like soft plastics and topwater plugs work great too. Here's a local secret: focus on potholes in the grass flats during lower tides. The trout stack up in these deeper areas waiting to ambush bait. A well-placed cast can result in multiple hookups from a single spot.
Snook are one of Florida's most sought-after gamefish. These sleek predators average 1-2 feet long but can grow over 4 feet. You'll find them lurking around mangroves, docks, and bridge pilings, especially in estuaries and backwaters. Spring and fall are prime seasons as snook move between their summer and winter haunts. They're ambush feeders, so look for points and eddies where bait gets swept along. Snook put up an amazing fight, often leaping clear out of the water when hooked. Their meat is top-notch too, though highly regulated. For lures, try swimbaits or jerk baits that mimic baitfish. Live bait like pilchards or pinfish is hard to beat. Here's a local trick - fish the outgoing tide around mangrove points for your best shot at a trophy snook. Just be ready for that first explosive run when they realize they're hooked!
Tarpon are the silver kings of Florida fishing. These prehistoric giants can top 8 feet and 280 pounds, though 100-pounders are more common. They migrate through Naples waters in spring and summer, following bait schools in coastal areas and passes. Tarpon are famous for their acrobatic leaps and long, dogged fights. Anglers come from all over to test their skills against these powerful fish. You'll find them rolling on the surface, gulping air in deeper channels or cruising the flats in just a few feet of water. Live bait like crabs or mullet is deadly, but fly fishing for tarpon is the ultimate challenge. When you hook up, be ready for multiple jumps and long runs. Here's a pro tip: use a looser drag at first to prevent breaking off on those initial jumps. Tarpon aren't great eating, so we practice catch and release to keep the fishery strong for future generations.
